There were workers, farmers, teachers, students, and the Chinese women's volleyball players. I was one of them. As a Young Pioneer, I stood on a colourful floatin the shape of a ship with many other primary school students. We waved flowers. We sang and danced, and we cheered. We all wished our motherland a happy birthday and a glorious future. That was the most exciting day in my life. I will never forget it. To celebrate the Chinese National Day, there was a parade on Tian'anmen Square on October 1st every year. But now we plan a parade every five years. In 2019, to celebrate the 70th birthday of the People's Republic of China, 100,000 people and 70 floats joined the grand parade. When these people marched through Tian'anmen Square, they looked so happy and excited. The colourful floats showed the great achievements of China in every field. The most impressive part was the military parade. Soldiers from different forces marched through the square. There were different types of vehicles, advanced weapons, and equipment. They were all developed and made by our Chinese scientists, engineers, and workers. We felt so proud and excited when we watched the parade on TV. In the evening, there was a grand gala to celebrate New China's 70th birthday.
