The Battle of Luding Bridge was a key battle during the Long March. To stop the Red Army crossing the bridge, the enemy took away the wooden boards. But twenty-two volunteers risked their lives. They moved forward on their hands and knees on the iron chains. The enemy shot at them and the soldiers dropped into the river one after another. But that couldn't stop them. Finally, a Red Army soldier got over the bridge, and then more soldiers arrived at the other end of the bridge. Growing up in a small community in Ghana, Osei Boateng used to watch people in his community struggle to get basic healthcare. Many community members got sick and even lost their lives. Among them was his grandma. "My grandmother was a very big part of my life," said Boateng. "It was very hard when we lost her." In fact, a simple health check could have saved Boateng's grandma. But he always thought of the community members. He knew why they didn't go to a doctor. "Leaving their workplace means they're losing money and can't put food on the table." In 2021, Boateng thought of a way to provide healthcare to people in faraway areas like his community. He left his job and returned to Ghana. He bought a van, and added solar energy systems and medical equipment to it. He changed it into a mobile doctor's office. He named it the "Hope Health Van" and organised a small medical team. The van travelled to many faraway areas in Ghana and provided free routine medical care. Marie Skłodowska-Curie was a famous scientist. She was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1867. As a child, she enjoyed studying maths and physics and she wanted to go to university. At that time, women in Poland couldn't attend university, so Marie went to a secret university. Finally, in 1891, Marie arrived at the Sorbonne University in France.
